Hey bitches and welcome back to Bitchin’Blonde. Today I want to talk about how we can help support our small and indy businesses. Here in Liverpool I am lucky enough to be surrounded by some amazing independent businesses, creatives and musicians! Liverpool has always been a bustling hub of Indies and just because we are all stuck at home doesn’t mean this has to stop. I wanted to note a few ways in which we can all help out, I do mention a ton of Liverpool based businesses but this doesn’t mean you can’t apply the same way of thinking if you are in a different city.
Wether you are looking for fruit and veg or wanting to post your bestie a birthday card, we can help our independents by making them our first port of call for any essential items. @neighbourhoodcafeliv are doing grocery boxes, will all of the essential fruit and veg you might not be able to get at a mainstream supermarket! Some other great places to shop are; @littleworldmarket, @littlebakes__ and The Bread Shop Bakery located on Aigburth road.
Now for anything gift related check out @merseyetsyteam who tag so many talented creatives! Oh and don’t forget if you are looking to post some flowers to a loved one @marymaryflorals is your gal!
Takeaways Never Tasted So Good
Especially when you are helping local businesses! If you can because I know times are extremely hard with loss of jobs and furlough so if possible and you are looking to treat yourself this weekend, get yourself a takeaway from your fave independents. So many amazing restaurants have had to close their doors but check out their Instagram accounts and try and order directly if you can, don’t forget that (if you can) to leave a really nice tip when paying online or contactless, you are helping them in so many ways!
Join Them Online
With everyone having to work from home creatives have came up with some pretty cool ways to keep you entertained. Take @bongosbingo for example they’ve took to twitch to keep our Saturdays wild! You’ve got live exercise classes from @barrebalance and dj sets from @nowaveculture as well as some amazing musicians creating great content on their Instagram accounts. Aside from watching you can also help out for FREE, by re-posting your favourite creatives work to your stories, liking and comments on their posts to help them boost engagement and their audience. It’s free and takes only a couple of minutes so why not put a smile on someones face.
Of course one amazing way you can help your community is by staying at home and stopping the spread of the virus further! Thank you for tuning into this weeks post, if you have any more ideas on how you can help your community please drop them down below in the comments. Until I am reunited with @themerchantliverpool these old pictures will have to do. Catch you next time…
