Khaki green. A colour I thought I would never wear. Something I’ve never really looked at until now. Recently Free People sent me this beautiful boho khaki day dress. Perfect for festivals, hot summer days and sitting by a bomb fire in autumn. A dress so versatile in seasons due to the colour. I found that khaki is probably a colour mixed into most colour schemes on the catwalk from autumn/winter to spring/summer. Of course you guys recently will have noticed that I have kinda really pushed my style and I have been trying colours from oranges, red and even pinks which is a big push for me but now after trying this incredible khaki dress. I don’t see myself limiting my wardrobe I see my wardrobe doors more open and accepting to colour. I never really thought khaki would be something for me but I think it is a great colour which can be flattering on every skin tone, every hair colour.
I kind of made my self that girl that only really worn black and white, because you know that was the ‘thing’ to do. But recently over the past few months I really do feel like I am finding my own style inspired by my own brain saying HELL YEAH, rather than trends saying it. I had always wanted a military khaki green jacket but never really had the balls to get up and grab it but now after testing out khaki and finding it to be a super easy colour to wear I think I am just going to do it. I just keep reminding myself that i need to experiment more and that there are no rules when it comes to fashion, well in my book there isn’t anyway!
I wore this dress for my first day at the British Style collective here in Liverpool for the first year. I paired it with my incredible new Karl Lagerfeld bag (thank you My Bag), a oversized floppy western hat from Missguided and my sassy leopard print boots from Dune London. Over all I kinda felt like there were certain styles that just classed in this outfit but I think that is what made me love it more! I didn’t really plan my outfit apart from I knew I wear this dress I kind of thought I would wear black western boots which in reality probably went more than the leopard but again, there are no rules in fashion.
Got to admit it couldn’t have been that bad considering I am planning on wearing this again super soon and of course the dress will be coming with me to Los Angeles! I am just hoping that Liverpool has some warmer days so I can dance around in it more!
Huge thank you to Free People for sending me the dress is it so super kind of you guys, I have been such a fan of you for a while so to receive a message from you guys was just incredible! I hope you all enjoyed today OOTD post I promise I am going to be doing a lot more soon!
