Nolita Cantina - Review

Hello guys hope your all doing well! Todays post is going to be the start of a new series I have been wanting to do for a while and it's all about the great food of Liverpool. I want to do this series because Liverpool has so much to offer in every way, but a big way is the food scene. Me and my boyfriend are always on the hunt for the best burger to the best beer. So for anyone visiting Liverpool or you live here and want to try somewhere new have a read of my upcoming reviews. All food places mentioned I will always write wether or not they are independent I'm wanting to avoid food chains as we all kind of know and can guess at what it will be like. I think the smaller independent business' are always much better for food, quality and the staff are more laid back and its easier to converse with them. So without anymore waffling on this is Nolita Cantina...

So we picked this place for our 'Friday Night Date Night' because we seen the menu done mac 'n' cheese and nachos, this was just a complete win-over there and then. We went in and it was really busy I think with only two spare tables which obviously indicates they must do something worth coming for. We read the menu but we both new what we were going to have anyway, we like to be planned and prepared when food is in the context. Alex ordered the 'Pulled Pork' burger and he's not one to leave food on his plate so he obviously enjoyed it big time. The burger said it had Dr pepper BBQ sauce on it (Hello ? How cool) but he said he couldn't really taste it but I don't think it was actually suppose to taste like it, it is just an ingredient used when making the sauce. His also came with sweet potato fries (my favourite and I ate most of them, lol).
I then ordered the 'Panzanella' garlic seasoned bread topped with roasted tomatoes and a hell of a lot of mozzarella cheese...It was delicious and the portion was huge, of course I still finished it. I had no complaints at all out my dish, the bread was especially nice and I think it could have been home made...
Then of course we had to make the big decision of wether to order nachos or mac 'n' cheese. Alex wanted the mac 'n' cheese but I was craving nachos so bad. of course I won and the nachos were ordered, Alex however wasn't disappointed and ate the majority of them. I think these were possibly the best nachos I've had at a restaurant. they came with the usually guacamole and sorcery but these had refried beans with a sales mixed top with jalapenos and more sauce, it was a heavenly overload.
Over all I liked it here the staff were very friendly and weren't constantly in your face trying to be a 'kiss-arse waiter' something that makes me feel super uncomfortable at a restaurant. The atmosphere was lively and enjoyable! I'd happily go back anytime but next time I've gotta try the veggie burger 'Nomita' an of course the mac 'n' cheese. Only one complaint, we think it was only a one floor restaurant we think it needs a bigger space so they can feed the population of Liverpool their delicious dishes.
